Becon Watertech was established in 1968 by Mr Chris Bauman. Chris steadily built up the business to supply a wide range of drinking water purification and wastewater treatment applications across South Africa, SADC and and the rest of Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. In February 2011 Chris retired, allowing Tecroveer (Pty) Ltd the opportunity to take over the business.
The Company Mission has been to develop robust water and wastewater treatment plants by utilizing appropriate technology for rural areas, where low skilled operation of equipment is required.
The company has been extensively involved in the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants and related projects for smaller communities, and has completed some 1000 projects to date, mostly on a turnkey basis.
Becon systems are therefore designed to incorporate cost-effective, in-situ RC structures and reactors, fitted with robust functional mechanical equipment, to ensure effective operation and a long life, with minimum attention and maintenance.
All design and development work for projects are undertaken in-house, and most mechanical equipment for water and wastewater projects are manufactured in the company’s own factory.
Becon Watertech operates throughout Southern Africa, with a branch in Cape Town and agents in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Gabarone, Mauritius, Seychelles and Windhoek.
